Rockets Falling in Southern Israel

 A Call to Prayer

Tensions in Israel are high as a barrage of rocket fire into Southern Israel from the Gaza Strip is ongoing. Rockets have fallen in open areas near Sderot, in the Beer Tuvia Regional Council, in the Eshkol and Hof Ashkelon regional councils, and in other areas of the Negev desert. Israeli officials report that the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted one inbound rocket near the port city of Ashdod. No injuries or damage have been reported inside Israel, but at least one person was killed and many injured in a strike carried out by the Israeli Air Force on a Hamas training camp in Gaza City. According to YNet, “IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz called in top army officials to evaluate the security situation as rockets continued to bombard southern communities” on Friday, December 9th.

Would you please join us in praying earnestly for Israel and the epicenter region?

  • Pray that the Lord would give wisdom to Israel’s leaders in knowing how to respond.
  • Pray that by His grace the loss of life on both sides of this conflict would be minimized.
  • Pray the Lord would comfort the men, women and children living in Southern Israel and the Gaza Strip, and that He will draw them to Himself.

Thank you for standing with us to bless Israel and her neighbors in Jesus’ name.

As I write this, it has been 32 hours since all the cell phones in Israel woke us up at 3 am with a very unusual message: We are in a State of Extreme National Emergency. Stay near a place of shelter. All gatherings, educational and work activities are cancelled until further notice. We were told to check that our bomb shelters were prepared and stocked with food and water.
