Jerusalem braces for storm that is labeled ‘three times worse’ than what has been seen

The Times of Israel reported that the Jerusalem Municipality said that the city was expected Friday afternoon to be hit by a wave of stormy conditions “three times worse” than what has been experienced so far since late Thursday night.

Beginning at approximately 16:00pm local time, heavy snow began to fall again in the capital, and municipality officials told The Times of Israel that they were urging all residents of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas to stay indoors as weather conditions worsen. Earlier, the Israel Electric Corporation declared a nationwide state of emergency as tens of thousands of homes in Jerusalem and the surrounding region remained without power amid the severe winter storm besieging the area.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Cairo, residents reported snowfall for the first time in 112 years.

Stay near a place of shelter. All gatherings, educational and work activities are cancelled until further notice. We were told to check that our bomb shelters were prepared and stocked with food and water.
