Pray for Peace

Epicenter Conference 2011 in Jerusalem

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” –Psalm 122:6a

It is impossible to ignore the news when it’s unfolding all around you. In his opening remarks to conference goers at the Epicenter Conference in Jerusalem, Joel Rosenberg stated that these are undeniably dangerous times, but ones filled with opportunity. On the final day of the conference, attendees were encouraged over and over to pray for Israel and her neighbors. Specifically, two local pastors asked for prayer for believers in Israel whose lives are complicated by persecution, poverty, and political upheaval. While we are to pray for Israel, we cannot lose sight of praying for all nations; it is urgent that everyone hear the good news about Jesus Christ before it is too late!

During her message from 2 Chronicles 20, Kay Arthur pointed out that we have no need to fear. Like Jehoshaphat, we can set aside fear by seeking the Lord instead. In the midst of unrest, conference participants were released with a sense of urgency and peaceful determination to fulfill the great commission to all nations.
